<h4>At Hoomans Helping Hounds, we believe change is born in small acts of compassion, and when a community comes together, those small acts turn into something unstoppable.</h4><h4>We began as neighbours in Wesley Vale, standing together to stop a proposed greyhound and harness racing track. That grassroots fight became part of Tasmania’s historic decision to phase out greyhound racing altogether. From that moment on, our mission was clear: to be a voice for greyhounds, to build community, and to create change.</h4><h4>We are now a collective of tradies: from electricians to builders, motorbike mechanics, construction workers, aged and disability support workers, a lawyer : quite the muttley crew : BUT we are all dog lovers.</h4>

Why Greyhounds?

Because greyhounds are just dogs.

Just as goofy. Just as loyal. Just as lazy. Just as loveable as the one curled up on your couch right now. Maybe even better dressed in a quirky coat or sparkly collar.

But here’s the truth: most people have never seen a greyhound puppy. Why?

Because their lives have been treated differently. And we refuse to accept that. Greyhounds deserve the same chance at love, comfort, and belonging as any other dog.


When we say “just dogs,” we mean it in the most extraordinary way. They’re family. And family matters.

What We Do 

<h4>We created the Recycle Boutique, because of dogs.</h4><h4>We're not your mum’s op shop (unless your mum’s really cool). It’s a place with a cause, a conscience, and a bit of quirky character. Where donations matter.</h4>

We reimagine them.<br/><br/>🐾 We resell them in our boutique, with proceeds funding greyhound rehoming.<br/><br/>🐾 We help customers sell their designer outfits, giving them a way to contribute while keeping fashion in circulation.<br/><br/>🐾 This isn’t fast fashion, it’s fashion that makes a difference.
