At Hoomans Helping Hounds, we believe change is born in small acts of compassion, and when a community comes together, those small acts turn into something unstoppable.

We began as neighbours in Wesley Vale, standing together to stop a proposed greyhound and harness racing track. That grassroots fight became part of Tasmaniaā€™s historic decision to phase out greyhound racing altogether. From that moment on, our mission was clear: to be a voice for greyhounds, to build community, and to create change.

Why Greyhounds?

Because greyhounds are just dogs.

Just as goofy. Just as loyal. Just as lazy. Just as loveable as the one curled up on your couch right now. Maybe even better dressed in a quirky coat or sparkly collar.

But hereā€™s the truth: most people have never seen a greyhound puppy. Why?

Because their lives have been treated differently. And we refuse to accept that. Greyhounds deserve the same chance at love, comfort, and belonging as any other dog.

We created the Recycle Boutique, retail with a purpose. Itā€™s not your mumā€™s op shop (unless your mumā€™s really cool). Itā€™s a place with a cause, a conscience, and a bit of quirky character.
