Evie the goofy Greyhound

✨ Evie: From Track Cast-Off to Parliament’s Most Stylish Employee ✨

Meet Evie — the very first greyhound we rescued and the accidental icon who now trots into Tasmanian Parliament with her sister IZZY, like they own the joint.

Evie was the dog who changed everything for us.
And honestly? She almost didn’t happen.

For over 10 years, others were fighting against greyhound racing — loud, proud, and stubborn — but some had never actually stepped foot into a trainer’s yard. (Yep. We know. Hypocrisy with a bow on it.)

Then Evie happened.
This long-legged, gentle, slightly-awkward supermodel of a dog was the first to make us cross that line, walk through those gates, and see the industry up close. And what we saw broke us… and built us.

We walked out with a plan for Evie — our first rescue — and never looked back.

The Dogs' Home of Tasmania was amazing! Today, she’s not just a pet.
She’s our muse, our movement.
She goes to Parliament as our four-legged lobbyist, teaching MPs what compassion looks like in 35-kilo form. She lounges in offices, charms everyone within paw-distance, and quietly proves what we’ve been shouting for for only a few years:

Greyhounds aren’t racing machines — they’re family.
They’re therapy.
They’re hope wrapped in fur.

Because saving one greyhound didn’t just change her life.
It changed ours.
And now? It’s changing Tasmania.
